Show volunteers are parents and guardians & alumni who help make each production possible. Opportunities are available during rehearsals, tech week, and show weekends, with flexible roles that fit a variety of schedules and skill levels. From concessions and front-of-house help to backstage and logistical support, show volunteers provide critical assistance when students need it most. Many roles are per-show or short-term, making it easy to jump in and make a meaningful impact.
Concessions Chair Show commitment, flexible hours
Coordinate with students, the theatre director, and Boosters to collect ideas, goods, and design the theatre lobby concessions. Manage volunteer set-up and sales during performances and ensure proceeds support the program. Creativity and light organization skills helpful
Boost Tech Build As available weeks leading up to show, afterschool hours
Tech Build Boosters are show volunteers who support set construction and technical builds for each production. No experience is needed—training is provided, and there is always something to do. Whether you’re working with tools, painting, organizing, observing, or lending an extra set of hands, all help is valuable. This is a flexible, hands-on way to support students and be part of the creative process.
Playbill Booster Builder up to 8 hours in the weeks leading into show run, remote
Collaborate with student designer & theatre director to coordinate design, ordering/execution, & distribution of playbill. Act as a liaison between Playbill Mad Man & design team Canva/image resizing experience & playbillder.com knowledge a plus
Show Shirt Chair 4 hours per show, remote
Collaborate with student designer & theatre director to coordinate design, ordering/execution, & distribution of show shirts Graphic/print design & Canva experience helpful
CAPPIES Experience Expert leading up to spring show
Collaborate with students & theatre directors to coordinate & design the CAPPIES critics during their visit for show critique. Follow specific guidelines, oversee the Cappies critics’ visit by coordinating food, materials, seating, and communication with mentors to ensure a smooth event experience.
Director of Gifting 2 hours per show & 3 hours eoy, remote
Coordinate with appointed students & Boosters to determine, secure, wrap, & distribute show gifts for senior students & directorial leadership. Coordinate purchase of bouquets & show flowers with Concessions, assist theatre director with designing & ordering, Boosters with distributing senior yard signs to celebrate graduating class. This gig is best suited for an underclassman parent
Cast Party Chair Per show commitment
Coordinate with Boosters and vendors to secure donations and discounts for food service, venue, and party activities. Arrange themed décor and favors to celebrate the show with students, ensuring each cast party is fun & memorable. Party-animals to the front of the line
Booster Chairs are parents, guardians and alumni who take on leadership roles that support the theatre program throughout the year. These positions focus on areas such as fundraising, sponsorships, hospitality, promotional events, communications, and volunteer coordination. Chairs help plan, organize, and guide efforts that fund productions and student opportunities. Roles vary in time commitment and can be shared or co-chaired, making leadership accessible and collaborative.
Tech Week Meal Chair Per show, weeks leading into; remote & in community
Organize food and snack support for cast and crew during tech week and show runs. Secure sponsorships, discounts, and donations from local restaurants and businesses, manage snack fridge funds, coordinate to request and assign volunteers, and ensure cast & crew are fueled and cared for during long rehearsal and performance days.
Playbill Mad Man Fall-heavy commitment, occasional throughout remainder of season, mostly remote
Collaborate with student publicity & theatre director to fundraise within community by selling ad space in show playbills for the season Canva & Jotform experience helpful
Pyramid Outreach Chair Throughout the year, mostly remote
Support students, directors, and Boosters by coordinating the design, ordering, digital distribution, and printing of theatre collateral. Maintain and grow contact records with local elementary schools, PTSA leaders, and middle school programs, ensuring consistent communication and engagement across the school pyramid
Dine & Donate 1 hour per event, contribute anytime
Organize partnerships with local restaurants for dine-in or carry-out fundraiser nights. Coordinate with Boosters to schedule events, promote them within the community, and ensure a portion of sales supports the theatre program. Simple, low-time commitment with a big impact.
Booster Grant Chairs 1+ hours at your convenience, remote
As simple as applying for a grant on our behalf (we give you the info, you write & submit the essay) all the way up to collaborating seasonal agenda with Booster Board & Theatre Director
Webmaster Occasional season-long, remote
Maintain and update Booster website, support fchsdrama.org student directions. Post announcements, events, and fundraising opportunities. Experience with Google Drive helpful
Once a Jaguar, always a Jaguar. Your theatre experience doesn’t end at graduation. Alumni volunteers support Jaguar Theatre through mentoring, tech builds, production support, fundraising events, and special projects. Opportunities are flexible and based on your interests and availability.
